A darkroom is used for photographes that are made through the procces of using photographic paper or film, where white light is shut out and only red lights are used insted.
In the darkroom an enlarger, an optical apparatus similar to a slide projector, that projects light through the image of a negative onto a base, finely controls the focus, intensity and duration of light, is used for printmaking. The enlarger is used insted of a camera, this is a projectoer that only shines white light onto the photographic paper. |
Double exposer with the pin hole camera, its a similar prosesces to the double exposer with the enlarger apart from the fact that you are using natural white light. First you want to open the hole and let it be exposed for about 2-4 seconds then cover up the hole, keeping the can in the same place your model needs to move to a different spot, then you want to expose the hole again for another 2-4 seconds so that it creates a second outline of your model.

Portrait of a person, this was done with the pin hole camera and it came out really well and the when the image is put in invert colours the detail is seen very clearly. The other image is the sandwich print of the portrait and you can see a bit more of his face as the image is more exposed to white light and the colours start to fade in with a more grey.

SLR Camera
A pin hole camera is the most basic form of a camera as the pin hole allows light to enter through the hole and letting the light hit the light sensitive paper, creating a photograph of the single shot taken. The same goes for a SLR camera but insted the light passes through a lense allowing you to change the zoom level along with aperture, it also sharpens the photo quality, you can also control shutter speed controling the amount of light that comes in through the lense. |
