Herbert Bayer is one of the most closely identified individuals with the Bauhaus program in Wiemar Germany, Along with Walter Gropius, Laszlo,Moholy-Nagy, and Wassily Kandinsky, Bayer helped a philosophy of functional design that extended over design. He was born in Haag, Austria, and apprenticed in a local
architectural design and graphic arts studio. By 1920 he had already moved into Berlin Germany then after that a year later he had enrolled into a state funded school of design called the Bauhaus. It represented the modern art and architecture. He only stayed to be a student but then went onto becoming one of its most prominent faculty members. He left in 1928 and then went onto opening his own graphic design firm, during this time he went onto creating amazing pieces of art that are now held in a number of memorable exhibitions. |
